I am going home tomorrow the 11th. So ready. This was a longer stay and a harder one. Took me a few days to shake off the antibiotics and other meds but I got off them yesterday and then none today. At least no pain meds. Yes, I hurt when you touch me but am showing them I am ready to go home. At least no major iv meds. My poor arms /veins collapsed as soon as the meds went thru. Wow. strong little things. But already my bruises are getting lighter. Now the face bruising has yet to get going good. They start after I get home. Swelling is going down slowly also.
There was a nice man my age who had 8 of these surgeries to repair his head. He too was excited he finally got the bionics approved by his insurance. In ICU next to me. His was seemed to be more invasive than mine was.....God rest his soul, he passed the night before we were coming to the Tower floors. I was sad. They can't talk about it either. But his monitor was next to mine and I saw it when it went code red. Never came back on and lots of activities.
I am glad to be going home. My hubby and his cousin have been working on my kitchen counters. Should be done soon. Lots of rest when I get home still. They say couple of weeks before traveling and such. More later.
